Water-plantain Family - Alismataceae
Common Water-plantain Alisma plantago-aquaticaNative throughout most of Eurasia, southwards to Thailand and East Africa. Small, three-petalled flowers carried in a large, much-branched head. Petals slightly pointed at the tip; leaves rounded to more or less cordate at the base. Under a hand lens, the style can be seen to be about half way up the side of the fruit.
