Native to the eastern Mediterranean Region from Greece and Libya to the Middle East. Calyx lobed almost to base; petals 4.5-8mm across; leaves and stems distinctly hairy including scattered, longer hairs.

Seaside Heliotrope Heliotropium curassavicum
Native to the Americas and perhaps Australia but widely introduced elsewhere, especially in the Mediterranean Region and southern Africa. A perennial, more or less hairless species with slightly fleshy, narrow leaves. Typically found on open, stony ground and often near the coast.
